Google is currently putting out this new broad core version, which has been six months in the making. Google’s first algorithm upgrade of 2022 is now live. According to Google’s Danny Sullivan, it’s called the May 2022 core upgrade.
Today, we’re launching our May 2022 core release,” Google added. The full rollout will take roughly 1-2 weeks. “Designers implement core adjustments to improve Search generally and follow up with the evolving nature of the internet.” While nothing in an improved the way is to any one site, these upgrades may cause some changes in how sites function, as we’ve previously stated in our recommendations on what copyright holders should understand about core changes,” Google announced.
Google Update Rumors
Since May 16, the SEO field has been indicators of a possible Google algorithm upgrade. Google did not confirmed these allegations. Up until today, any instability was most probably contributing to those concerns. Perhaps Google was putting the fundamental update to the test? Google’s John Mueller tackled this directly, saying, “When we release core upgrades, we start rolling them out at that time, previously not possible.”
The rollout began this day.
At 11:30 a.m. ET, Google began rolling out this major core upgrade. And Google will notify us once the update is complete.
Google Previous Updates
The most recently reported core update was the November 2021 core release. It came after July 2021 improved the way, and before that, the June 2021 core update, which was a update that took a long time to spread out. Prior to that, we had the December 2020 core change that was much larger than May 2020 and developed a new strategy. The upgrade was also broad, taking a few weeks to spread out. Prior to that, there was the January 2020 fundamental upgrade, which we discussed here. The core update from September 2019 was the one before that. Many SEOs and developers thought it was weaker than prior core updates because it didn’t have as much of an impact. More information regarding previous Google upgrades can be here.
What to do if Update Impacted You
In the past the Search engine has offered suggestions on what to do. If you have been by a core upgrade. There are no precise steps to follow to get back on track, and a drop in ratings may not indicate anything is incorrect with your sites.
